4 Day Empowered New Year: Sober Curious Yoga Womens Retreat In The Blue Ridge Mountains, USA
Alysse Bryson is a strong woman in recovery, an innovative media maven, marketing guru, and gal about town. „I’m just a laid-back old school Seattlite…with sober superpowers. You can take the girl out of the party, but you can’t take the party out of the girl.” Leaving the everyday barrage of stimuli for 4 days will allow for a much-needed deep emotional rest.

Recovery retreats to heal with other women with similar lived experiences who have earned the right to hear your story.

Our luxurious retreat space is surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains, which can be enjoyed from a spacious wraparound deck. We’ll have plenty of space to unwind between hiking, yoga and meal times, and end our days cozied up by the fireplace. When I spoke to Carrie, who created this incredible adventure and is the Founder of Brave Recovery, she shared with me that she had pretty much no hiking experience when she launched her first hiking retreat. A willingness to take risks, be brave and listen to that inner call. I hope that helps set the tone for what this experience will be about. Whether you have no hiking experience (yet!), amphetamine addiction treatment or are a hiking enthusiast, this is an opportunity to step out of your daily routine and make lifelong sober friends.
We’ll be alternating between fresh air, fun activities – wild sea sober curious dip, hiking, trips out to local sights, plus a homey cookery lesson and Inner Child-themed Fairy House Building session! But I have also built in lots of solitary, reflection / calibration time. Lots of fun in the fresh, sea air, and then plenty of peaceful solitude whenever you need it. It’s so important to balance your own needs on a retreat to socialise AND to hibernate a little on your own-some. The first (and, so far, only) 5-star wellness resort in the UAE, the beachfront Retreat Palm Dubai offers personalized retreat options and other well-being perks. It’s perfect for a family trip, romantic getaway, or personal journey to rest and recharge — you’ll leave refreshed, inspired, and hangover-free.

Wellness retreats have exploded in popularity in recent years, offering more than just yoga mats and green juice. These experiences are designed to help you detox—not just from what’s in your glass, but from stress, burnout, and the chaos of daily life. Hooked welcomes everyone, whether you’re sober, sober-curious, or sober-supportive, regardless of age or gender. Steve Abrams, president of Sober Vacations International, spent his college days sailing the seven seas, but it wasn’t until he got sober in 1980 that his real adventure began. In 1987, Steve and his brother created Sober Vacations International, a travel company that would help those in recovery explore the world without compromising their sobriety.
